Paigah Tombs

Located 10 kms from Charminar, the Paigah tombs because of their unique geometrical features are considered as one of their kind in the world. Dating back to the eighteenth century, the Paigah tombs built of lime and mortar in the unique Indo Saracenic architecture remain unparalleled even today. Spread over 30-40 acres of lush greenery, the tombs belong to the Paigah nobles who were married into the Nizam of Hyderabad's family. Needless to say, they were close to the Nizams and very powerful and influential, taking care of the security and defense of the state. Beautifully carved with marble inlay work, the Piagah tombs are one of the magnificent pieces of art. The detail and intricacy of the stuccowork that adorns these structures is totally awesome. More
